We Are the Arc Benders, Being a Prophetic Voice in Alternative Community

Simultaneously, he is a Liberation Theology scholar focused on dismantling and transforming oppressive systems toward equity, empathy, justice, peace, and humanity. He received a Master’s of Divinity from Princeton Seminary, a Master’s of Sacred Theology from The General Seminary, and he is currently pursuing a Doctorate on Ministry with a focus on Social Justice from Howard School of Divinity. John Francis has also played concerts with Sinead O’Connor, Kris Kristofferson, Loretta Lynn, Steve Earle, Wilco, Mavis Staples, Rickie Lee Jones, Suzanne Vega, and many others. Shane Claiborne (Author / Activist) said, “John Francis O’Mara is a poet; a provocateur of dreams and an instigator of movements. Listen, and be inspired to do something daring with your life“, and Sojourners Magazine wrote, „Like the best story songs from Springsteen, the tale and the telling haunt the listener“.
John Francis O’Mara invites you to his seminar exploring, in conversation, what it means to be a prophetic voice in alternative prophetic community, and what it means to be ‚arc benders‘ („The arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward justice“, Dr. MLK) Together, we will explore protest and collective public lament as worship and expression of God’s love and justice.
